Gastrolux sauté pans are well known in over 25 countries for their unique and durable “Biotan” non-stick coating, designed for “Healthy fat free cooking” – you can cook without oil; however, you may choose to add a little oil to taste.

When preparing vegetables for sauté ensure they are all chopped to the same size, so they cook together at the same rate. For garlic lovers add your garlic last so that it will not burn and taste bitter.

Healthy Cooking with Gastrolux
Every 2nd Year our products are checked by the Danish Technological Institute (TI) in Århus certifying that our products:
  • Offer the highest hygiene during food preparation.
  • Do not transfer any chemicals to the food that can be of danger to your health, change the quality, taste or colour of the food.
  • Are produced in accordance with good manufacturing practice, meaning that the manufacturers are using raw materials and technology in accordance with international standards and guidelines.
We have extended the TI test so that it includes tests for flame retardants, phthalates and PFOS. The tests have shown that our products transfer no migration of such ingredients. No other pans have been tested by TI during the last 2 years (validation time for the certificate). Further more, our BIOTAN coating is absolutely free of PFOA.

I bought a set of Gastrolux pans, when I lived in Germany five years ago, they were the previous design with fixed handles and standard bases and served me absolutely brilliantly, really easy to cook with and very easy to clean. I have moved back to the UK and bought a house with a new fitted kitchen, including an induction hob, so have upgraded to the induction base pans, with detachable handles and they are even better than my first set. I recommend anyone even thinking of having an induction hob in the future, to buy the induction base pans now, as you can use them on a conventional hob for now and still use them on an induction hob in the future. Well worth the extra investment. Top marks Gastrolux, a great set of cookware.
